Eco Side Of The City

Winner project of 1K/Euro EXHIB-DESIGN workshop at Politecnico di MilanoCollaboration with FEEM(Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei). Realized in June 2010 for ENI exhibition in Viggiano(PO).

Eco Side of The City is a temporary installation facing the theme of sustainable urban living made by a group of international students, Martina Margini, Sara Marabini, Chiara Motta, Micaela Nardella, Ashkan Mortazavi. Commissioned by FEEM (Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei) during the one-wee workshop 1K/Euro EXHIB_DESIGN at Politecnico di Milano, Eco Side of The City is the winner project, which addresses to an urban citizen. It is a cardboard structure, which reproduces part of a city skyline. Nine thematic towers are assembled on a 2X5m wooden base to create a walking experience as a moment of learning a sustainable way ofeveryday life. The installation presents two different sides. The front one is black and shows a typical skyline of high-raised buildings. The backside wants to communicate different themes by the use of slogan and information. How can the single person contribute to reduce the energy consumption of his city? “Honor the public transport” or “You must not commit stand-by” are just two of the 10 different advices -which sound more as commandments- for a perfect sustainable citizen. Each tower is then completed with a list of efficient eco-solutions on how to preserve energy resources coming from different cities worldwide. The installation is now located in the hall of FEEM, research institute of sustainable development and global governance, in Potenza, Italy.
